Rakim Hashim Allen was having dinner at the House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Roscoe, Los Angeles, California, on Monday (22.09.12) when the robbery occurred, and he was pronounced dead following the incident.
Captain Kelly Muniz of the Los Angeles Police Department – who did not reveal the rapper’s name – revealed at a press conference that a “victim was sitting at a table with a witness eating when she was approached by the suspect”.
She said the suspect demanded “his property from her,” drew a gun, and fired several shots before appearing to “remove some property”.
Muniz added that PNB Rock was pronounced dead at 1:59 pm local time, with the Southern Homicide Department investigating the case and “many other detectives”.
Although the captain did not name PnB Rock, eyewitnesses and video footage suggested he was the victim.
No one else was injured in the incident, KTLA reported. At the same time, a video of the aftermath showed the rapper – who has 2.6 million Instagram followers – alive but critically injured before he died.
Shortly before filming, his girlfriend – designer and influencer Stephanie Sibaunheuang – posted a video of him eating at the restaurant on her Instagram story.
The couple has a two-year-old daughter, Juri, together.
Authorities are now evaluating surveillance footage from inside the restaurant and nearby businesses to identify the suspect, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In 2016, PnB Rock released their first hit, ‘Selfish’, and their collaboration with YFN Lucci – ‘Everyday We Lit’ – came out the same year and reached number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the highest track for both. The musicians.
