It’s been a while since National Hockey League fans have had the chance to see their favorite superstars compete in a real game, but it seems hockey is still at the forefront of many people’s minds.
We got an example of this Sunday night, when, during a press conference for a professional wrestling pay-per-view event, contestants became the butt of some barbs from a Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, and some of his current and former teammates.
These barbs come courtesy of the current All Elite Wrestling Champion, a man who goes by the name CM Punk. In the short clip below, you can see CM Punk proudly displaying the belt he just won, the AEW champion answered a variety of questions, one of which led to some harsh words from Penguin.
After answering the question, CM Punk, known as a die-hard Chicago Blackhawks fan, once again took the mic and threw in some extra words for Crosby and the Penguins.
The Penguin rant appears to have been motivated by a report in question, but the issue itself doesn’t seem to be the issue here. It’s hard to say since the camera is only pointed in one direction, but if I had to bet a hunch, I’d suspect one of the reporters was using some sort of Penguin memorabilia, which would lead to CM Punk’s rant.
One thing is for sure, CM Punk won’t let go of that grudge anytime soon and I suspect he’ll circle the days on his calendar this season when his Chicago Blackhawks once again face the Pittsburgh Penguins.
